The Reality

The idea of walking into a gym alone, copying strangers, and hoping you're doing it right is the thing that stops you. Not wanting to improve. That's never been the problem.
Most beginner programmes aren't.
They're intermediate programmes with easier weights bolted on. Same exercise selection, same pace, same assumption that you already move well. That's not a programme for someone starting out. That's a shortcut that usually ends in injury or quitting.
Your first hour is a movement screening.
Your programme is built from that.
Your coach watches how you squat, hinge, press, and stabilise. Whatever they see becomes your baseline. Your exercises, your loads, your progressions are all written from there. The person training next to you does something different because their screening was different.
What to Expect
Your First 48 Hours
The part nobody talks about. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you land.
Day of Arrival
Airport Pickup & Check-in
Your driver meets you at Phuket airport. You are taken directly to your accommodation on Soi Taied. Check in, settle, decompress. No rush.
Day 1 Morning
Welcome & Induction
Meet your coaching team. Tour of all training facilities, recovery venues, and Pure Prep (your meals for the duration). You will know exactly where everything is before your first session.
Day 1 Morning
Body Composition Scan
Full 3D body scan establishes your baseline: weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, measurements. This is day-one data. Everything that follows is measured against it.
Day 1
First Training Session
Your first coached session follows induction -- whichever class is next on the schedule. Coaches observe your movement, fitness level, and any restrictions from the first rep. Intensity is set to where you actually are.
Day 1 After Training
Get to Know the Group
You have already trained alongside them. After the session, the group heads to Pure Prep together. Conversation happens over food. No forced introductions required.
Day 2 Onwards
Full Programme
Your personalised weekly plan is live. Big Buddha hike, strength sessions, personal training. Your meal plan is running at Pure Prep. Recovery protocols start. Every day has structure from here.
As someone who hasnt exercised much previously, I felt very intimadated going to a gym without any knowledge of equipment or what to do. Prime Rive Retreat was perfect for me.
